My daughter and I just took out the Giant for the first time. We played with 2 Dire Enemies. We're pretty pumped and eager for the August kickstarter release!

Questions:

1. If a region has fallen, you are in the city and have health I presume that you can defend against a Dire Enemy attack. Further, if you have 2 health and are defending from the city, thereby destroying the Dire Enemy, then I believe you would win an artifact. Yes?
2. If Dire Enemy attacks and there is no one in the region, do you simply play out any instructions on the card and then place the Dire Enemy immediately in the discard pile?

Cheers!

1. You can never defend from the city, you should go to the fallen region to defende there.

2. Yup, that's right (also, the region that the enemy attacks would get 1 hit)

What no one else has said ...

Great job! I'm glad you're playing and enjoying it. How old is your daughter? My friend also wants to play with his children, but hasn't tried the PnP yet.

Well, maybe not as much of a "child" per-se, but she is 13.
Previously we played Castle Ravenloft together (and she was even younger, of course) but after about 4 turns she would really lose interest and begin to drift.
With TED she's right into it and has said about 5x how much she loves the game.
Her one criticism is that she wants "her" sorcerer to have a name. She was hopeful that the August release would include that but I told her we'd just add it on ourselves. That way she can name her heroine whatever she wants. Bam! Instant customization

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Excellent "Dad" answer! Especially if she has her own BGG account ...
