With the rules update, time to plow through:

Also bopping through some old S&T tiles such as Cedar Mountain: Prelude to Bull Run, August 9, 1862, Wilson's Creek: The West's First Fight, August 10, 1861, Antietam: The Bloodiest Day, 17 September 1862 and Stonewall: The Battle of Kernstown, March 23, 1862.

I'm studying up on

and

The first, because I'm going to be playing it at a 1st Minnesota Historical Wargame Society game night in a couple of weeks. The second, because I just got it after trying to for the last year and a half or so (after I visited the Franklin battlefield).

I really want to play both next. I'm gonna try for an 1830 Saturday game in September if I can be off and get some folks to play ( which shouldn't be a problem).

I have read through the rules to Labyrinth: The War on Terror, 2001 – ? already and should get a game of this in on Saturday but I need to get another run through of the rules to feel totally comfortable with them.

Same as Labyrinth, I need to give Devil's Den a once over again and it will get played this weekend.

If you read last month's entry you will know that I went through a spate of buying and have many rule books to consume; SPQR (Deluxe Edition), Silver Bayonet: The First Team in Vietnam, 1965, The Great Battles of Alexander: Deluxe Edition and I received a bunch of microgames from judd so I need to actually read those (which should take all of an evening).

Getting my head around my first foray into this level of air combat wargaming with WarBirds: Canvas Falcons. The rules are well-written and the game looks like tremendous fun.

In anticipation of issue #42 (A Thunder Upon the Land: The Battles of Narva and Poltava):

landing in my mailbox, I am on a bit of an Against the Odds kick.

I am playing For Bloody Honor: The Russian Civil War solo (from issue #37):

and getting ready to play Guns of the Askari (from issue #38):

after that so both rule books (more accurately booklets) are on the table.

Oh, the rules for 1914: Offensive à outrance:

are also on the table as part of my ongoing four player once a week face to face campaign game.

I'm still tempted to attempt the current ruleset. Do you know if the next ruleset will have significant changes, or simply incorporate FAQ and clarifications?

Wow. I e-mailed him and asked him to move to Wichita, next door, and play EotS every day with me. I didn't hear back on that one.

Then I e-mailed him and asked for a DNA sample so that I could clone him so he could design bunches more awesome games, and so that I could play Clone Mark in EotS every day. I didn't hear back on that one, either.

And yet he answers you. shake

Perhaps I am biting off more than I can chew in my requests?
