And there she is,
Walking on air she is,
Fairest of the fair she is,
The Nebulon B.

I had to slice the bottom of the fore because Shapeways increases the price when a model occupies more than 10.000cm3. I know some of you wanted it to be sliced in 3 parts so it could be detachable, but I dont really like detachable parts in something like this. I did the slice there because is a messy part and you wont notice the cut after it is glued and also, is a place where its own weight helps it stay glued. If I had cutted it through the "tube" it will probably break constantly when you move it around the board.

Here are the tokens:

The idea is that the two tokens are independent, so fighters can go through the ship.

And in case you dont want to expend the money on the miniature, here is the affordable version:

Wow, that's pretty cool. $250 is a little rich for even my blood though, and I think I'll wait until FFG makes an uber-epic model, though I'd love to see this one in comparison to some actual ships

Huge ships don't use stress tokens, evade tokens, or focus tokens.
So how is this ship going to manage to use a blaster turret?
and I also don't know of any canon precedent that would allow it to use an ion turret.

Well, if it cant have focus tokens i guess having the blaster turret would be pretty useless here. The same as using something that creates stress tokens against a huge ship.

I dont think there is a card like this, but if for example there was a card that said something like "lose one shield to have an extra action" it would be very useless to place it on a TIE Fighter.

There are no huge ships with turrets but there are only 2 huge ships at the moment, and Im hoping FFG creates more turret cards in the future. And the ship (at least the model itself) has a little rotating turret on top. Thats why I added the turret.

Good news everyone!

The first Nebulon-B Frigate its in production. I will buy it myself soon enough, but I hope the buyer takes pictures when he gets it.

Curiously enough, the same buyer asked me to also do the model in 1/450 scale (aka the Tantive IV scale). And here it is:

https://www.shapeways.com/model/2374158/fragata-nebula-be-fo re-1-450.html

https://www.shapeways.com/model/2373837/stands-for-quot-frag ata-nebula-be-1-450-quot.html

I dont know if anyone will want it, but there it is

If im correct, it should be a $500 model not $600

To describe the size the word needed would be "Huge"

The CR90 miniature has a turbolasers as a primary weapon with 304° firing arc. Since the CR90 ship has 2 turbolasers and the Nebulon B ship has 12 turbolasers, I would make it the same primary weapon arc and forget about turrets. In other words, you put the turret symbol on the ship base for the primary, like the Falcon and the CR90, problem solved. I see now you did add the turret symbol on the base for the ship, and since the only place that mentions the arcs for that is the rulebook then you are finished, no turret slot needed.

She arrived, and is a work of art. The Base as designed will not support her, but that is probably to be suspected since it is Strong, White, Flexible. I will make a custom base for her. I think that base will also have the model connect directly to the forward base (to lower her center of gravity, and give a more stable front attachment. The rear will be lowered to match.

Here are some pictures:

You can see more pictures at my Blog: www.nangiliath.blogspot.com

Already saving for the 1/450 Version, so I can have her in scale with the Tantive IV.

Looks really,really good!

A couple of quick thoughts about the base - I think you're absolutely spot on about the front section of the Frigate connecting directly to the base - it's a tall model, so it doesn't really need to be raised that high off the board anyway.

It might also be a bit more stable if the front base was wider instead of being long?

Do you think a length of steel or brass rod would be enough to support the rear section?

Considering the WSF I think the problem is not related to the base but with the rods themselves. I have to thicken them with a + section (similar to what FFG does with the Huge ships stands).

They will have to be disatachable stands and pegs so you can place the token for the ship and then place the peg (exactly like what FFG does).

Of course - I was just wondering if it would be feasible to have a connecting part on the fore section of the ship which attaches directly to the base without the need for a separate rod at all, then just have one of the +rods on the base at the back to support the engine block...

The front would "touch the ground."

No rod. Just right on the base.

Put a small "+ shaped peg" on the front section that would directly attach to the base itself. No rod needed for the front.

Wouldnt that look bad? Like if the ship's head was so heavy it was crawling on the floor?

Besides, it would be a bit unconfortable to see the Token under the fore section.
