Hi all! So I was wondering which game is closest to an Indiana Jones type movie or experience. I love that theme and would love a game that fits that style. Thanks again!!

The Adventurers: The Temple of Chac is a fine rendition of the Indy concept.

I was watching Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and they said "Fortune and Glory" about half a dozen times. I'd completely forgotten!

The closest match is probably Temple of Chac, but the best game with this theme is Thebes

Is basically an entire game set in the time period and tone, with various adventures similar to Indiana Jones.

I didn't like the game myself, but it's definitely a great fit.

This is Indiana Jones in a box.

Fun, easy to learn, and quick to play.

It doesn't do you much good yet, but you might keep an eye on our game, Lost Adventures, which is seeking to do just what you've asked -- there's an info gathering phase where you're traipsing around the world gathering info about the whereabouts of the lost temple, followed by a phase where you try to run the temple to recover the lost artifact. unfortunately, the game is still in development but I think it's pretty close.

Thebes is a great archaeology game, if you can live without the race-against-doom/nazis/etc bit, and Escape is a great race-against-doom game if you can live without the archaeology bit. I wonder if there's a way to combine those two games. Hmmm.....

There must have been a moment at the beginning, where we could have said no. Somehow we missed it. Well, we'll know better next time.

While I agree that Adventurers is the closest (I mean, come on, it has a giant rolling boulder!), another Indiana-Jones-type-theme one you might want to check out is:
Lost Temple

Chac is much more akin to Tomb Raider than Indiana Jones. Fortune and Glory is what you want, by far.

Actually, it's only a re-creation of the giant boulder scene from Indiana Jones, in a push-your-luck style board game.

Play Fortune & Glory, but when you reach a temple, play Temple of Chac, for the complete Indy experience.
