One of my JLP tokens has worn out at the bottom so much that it can't be put in properly anymore. Any fixes and has anyone else encountered the same problem?

Yes, those things happen. Like the maneuver dials wear out rather soon.

Your JLP problem should be quite easliy solvable right here, by the community - there're a lot of people here, that have two (or more) core sets, that might simply mail you a spare pair of JLP captain tokens.

I'm quite sure, you'll be helped out.

I have found that the cardboard quality can differ quite a lot between runs. All of my wave 4 ships are too thick and the captains get torn up when inserted. To avoid them getting ruined I use a pair of wide nosed pliers to squish the bottom so they slide in more smoothly. This has worked very well for me so far.

The easy way to prolong the service life of your captain tokens is to only use one. Then you have a spare.

You could also use a little wad of poster-tack to hold it onto the base.
