Would there be any interest in a short season series(to see how it works), maybe 4 to 6 races depending on how many join. There could be more than 7 teams the schedule would be setup so that everyone has the same number of races, and races each opponent at least once. It would probably have to be play by forum as getting everyone at a common time is too difficult. Post if interested.

It sounds like a great Idea but a word of caution.

I've been in a PBEM game for two months now and we are just getting to the last lap. So if you are willing to spend about a year doing this (and can retain all of the players) then good luck.

Its a race game and race games should be.......zooom........fast.

Yes we would have to race more than one race at a time to get done in reasonable time.

He's looking real sharp in his 1940's fedora. He's got nerves of steel, an iron will, and several other metal-themed attributes. His fur is water tight and he's always up for a fight.

He's a semi-aquatic egg-laying mammal of action. He's a furry little flat-foot who'll never flinch from a fray. He's got more than just mad skills, he's got a beaver tail and a bill.

I'm in, if we can race multiple races. As others have said, I want to race quickly. I can commit to multiple daily moves.

It's my dream to play the season, not just a race. I'm definitely in.
It coud have 4 races, for example, one for every track.

Interested. Even more so if the player count per race was kept below 7. I'm in two 7-player games right now and the chances that somebody isn't able to continue in a reasonable timeframe are just bigger with 7...

Edit: I thought that it's commonly agreed that the sweet spot was 4-5 players?

I would like to play, but I wouldn't be able until september, I'm on my holidays now. When are you planning to start?

Moreover, I've never played by Forum or email. How do you manage it? You have the game no the table for months to see how it's going or what?

I will keep an eye on this thread and if you still need a team in september, I will be in. If not, maybe next season

Carsten - I have played in 6 and seven player games and they seem fine so the sweet spot I think is a little more than 4-5. There would never be more than 7 players in a race. For example if 10 players joined the schedule would be 5 races with 6 teams in each, but each player would only race in three of those races. Everything will depend on final number of players interested.

Jorge - The game plays well on vassal by pbem/forum using dropbox. Use dropbox to keep track of the log files and bgg forum to discuss the race. No definite start time still organizing.

the List right now

I made almost the same suggestion with Real Action Stockcar Championship.
My plan was that everyone raced one, two or more races on the different circuits, but with the same 20 cars and all of the results went into a serie and the car scoring most points was the winner.
You could play solitaire (you decided how many of the 20 cars you wanted to control) or with friends (controlling one or two cars each).
The results of the races should be sent to me and I would make a result list.
Lack of interest was the reason it never launched.

Since I don't own this game, I can't participate.

If I understand correctly as long as someone owns the game you are playing on vassal with it is ok.

I think this game would be one you would enjoy. Search Europe and buy it!

Count me in, if you still have space. Also, I'll take Green if it is available.

I figure to wait until the labor day holiday is over before trying to start. So anyone wanting to join has a week yet.

I should notify, I will be on vacation for about 2 weeks without access to VASSAL since September 13.
So maybe it would be better for me to skip the first race. Don't want to slow down the game.

If there is space, count me in, as well.

I can definitely make a move once or more a day. And have no trips booked!

So how to proceed now? Wait for the next weekend and cut off on Sunday night to get started?

For the record, I should be able to do daily moves, too. And I'm away for a long weekend in early October...

I'll make Monday night the cutoff as that is Labor Day here in the US, most will be on a three day weekend for the end of summer. If everyone can send me a confirmation that they are definitely playing that would help. For Sergey and Jorge would you two be interested in sharing a team(as I think Sergey is available at beginning of Sept and Jorge would be around during the second half.)
