Picked this game up years ago, and have finally got a short play in.
An okay game.
The game consists of 15 wooden dice that show different playing cards (8-A of the four suits, plus 4 jokers), a cup, a timer, and a board that serves both as a pit for rolling and a grid for placing the dice.
The grid is somewhat scrabble-like in that it has double and triple bonus squares, but it also has predetermined cards that you can either use to fill in your poker-hand or cover up with a sepparate die/card.
Out of the 15 dice and the grid, you try to make as many 5 card hands that intersect at least one other hand as you can before time runs out. (You can usually get at least four.)
The grid makes for some interesting choices as you try to create the highest point value hands out of the dice. Utilizing the free cards and hitting the bonus spaces most efficaciously is a little tough especially given the quick timer.
It would seem more like a multi-player game if there was some more interaction in the turns, or if, somehow both players could use the same dice at the same time...
Anyway, it felt like a game that you took turns playing than a game that you played against anyone.
Nice bits, and it might get some solo replay value by people who really enjoy crossword puzzles and have a bit of a yen for poker as well.
No one takes the time to read anymore.
Thanks for mentioning its a solo game too. Not in the game page's description for number of players. :)
