Ignoring shorts, capris pants, leggings, yoga pants, sweatsuits and so on and so forth. Just looking at jeans, slacks, suit trousers, cargo, and the like. Proper full length trousers. I will accept dungarees. Please ignore whether the item is actually clean enough by your standards to wear. If it's in a fit state to be put on otherwise of cleanliness, it counts.

I'm actually interested in the breakdown by gender, so there's that. But obviously I have no actual control, only your good will.

Poll: MEN - How many pairs of trousers do you own?
Asking of men - Proper full length trousers in active use. That is, ignoring momentos, deep storage. If it's to hand and you could wear it today, how many do you have?
I am a man and I have the following number of trousers in preparedness for use.
Zero
One to four
Five to eight
Nine to twelve
Twelve to sixteen
Sixteen to twenty
Twenty to twenty four
Over twenty four
Over one hundred

Everyone should own at least one pair of pants per work day in a week.

Do these count as pants? If so, I may need to change my answer.

2 pair of jeans, one pair of dress pants that are too big to wear. I retired and gave everything away to Goodwill.

I wear shorts until the temperature gets below 38 (3C) so there isn't much call for pants.

Why? I work in an office and never break a sweat. I'll wear the same pair of pants for a week.

Less laundry done = less money spent on water and electricity. Nobody can tell.

It helps that I don't weigh 300 lbs and sweat while I'm sitting.

15 pairs of work dress pants (that way I can do a crap ton of ironing and not have to again for 3 weeks if need be).

2 pair of beat to hell jeans for dirty work.

2 pair of jeans for casual wear.

2 pair of cargo pants.

2 pair of synthetic cargo hiking pants.

1 pair of classic army camo pants.

1 pair of camouflage hunting pants (their bib overalls though)

1 pair snowboard ski pants

1 pair carhartt insulated pants (also overalls)

I know it doesn't count but also 1 kilt.

So wearing a pair of pants for three or four days makes them smell like farts?

You guys wash pants after only one wear? That's crazy talk. I'm sitting at a desk in an over-air-conditioned office, what do you think is happening down there? Worst-case scenario is that I drop some taco meat on them, and even then the aroma of latin spices only adds to my charm.

In the words of Jeffrey Frageau, S.B., I am pants loyal. You can get at least two outings out of a pair of pants, maybe three if the lights are dim.

Addendum: For our friends in the U.K., I'm referring to trousers, of course. "Trousers" is such a British word, isn't it? Have you any trousers? Yes, I do own many trousers. May I borrow your trousers? I shall return your trousers in a fortnight. I shall wear your trousers to my maths class at the uni.

Okay, I don't feel so bad...the other over 24. I have at least 12 pairs of jeans and that many dress pants. Goodwill for jeans. I won't pay $70+ for a pair when I can get a pair for cheap.

I think I have 3 pairs of jeans right now. It is very hot outside, so I am not thinking about it yet. Once it gets cooler I'll go looking, I need another pair or so.

When I worked in an office I always wore skirts.

On quick glance, I thought you said you were wearing a shirt right now, and I was going to call you out for shenanigans since it's unlikely you would wear one of your three shirts at home when BGG.CON is coming up and if you wore them every day, then they'd be getting pretty threadbare come con time...

My father used to wear these at home. So elegant.

That is true; during these steamy summer months I do find it more comfortable to work shirtless.

(Instead of "steamy," was going to go with "blistering," but then realized that might invite crude & uncharitable comments.)
