So because of another thread where Drew linked us back to a a place were university sociologists are using volunteers to look at how morals and various other factors correlate (Which I apparently joined back in 2009 to take a test somebody posted here in RSP and promptly forgot about) so I ended up taking a test called a Consumer Values Study... and these were my results.

I found it to be interesting. (My results are the green bars)

Especially that I scored higher than average on considering pleasure and purpose to be driving factors in my buying habits... which I think they nailed because those are what I tend to buy things for... but the heritage one was unexpected. I don't spend a lot on that kind of stuff, but I do like to honor traditions, it just isn't that a lot of my family traditions need "stuff" to maintain I guess.

Here is the link if anybody else want to take some of different sorts of survey/tests. And again this one was called the Consumer Values Study.

Ha! It wouldn't let me register and then I figured out it's because I took one of their quizzes four years ago.

Anyway, I scored lower than both parties on everything. Maybe it's because I just don't buy enough?

Imagine a large, throbbing green bar labeled both purpose AND pleasure. You'd hit 9.5 for sure.

It's a pity "Trolling" is not one of the categories. Would be interesting to see the results of some of the regulars here...

Can't say I'm that sure what it means, if anything.

Edit:Having taken the quiz I think security would be bestter labeled 'Stability' on the graph. I can tell from the questions asked that's more what they're aiming for. Before I figured it was dealing with police issues/arms/etc

Not that - what does it indicate when compared to political affiliation.

It's just a cute little comparison. Yourself vs people who Identify Liberal or Conservative and where they generally scored on the same quiz.

Depending on the strength of the relationship, you can predict party preference from consumerism. I imagine it is a decent predictor.

Turns out, after answering all the initial questions to register, that my password was invalid. So the website forced me to start all over from the beginning. Fuck that.

I guess I'm the type of consumer who doesn't want you to waste my time.

It think they were using security as in "safety/security" from the second level of Maslow's hierarchy of needs. That was my take based on the questions.
