Bill, John, Jarett, and Joe recently played the "Knee Deep in the Dead" introductory scenario of the game Doom. As he had played the game once before, Bill took the role of the Invader player while the others each were marines. Joe's marine had the triple attack ability when unloading and was also a medic. Jarett's marine received movement bonuses and also did 2 extra points of damage when attacking with a red die weapon. John had three "cancel" tokens to negate the cards the Invader played and possessed the sniper ability.

The marines cleared the hallway in area 1with few problems. Joe's shotgun blasts and Jarett's chainsaw eliminated most of the smaller monsters in single attacks. Trouble began for the marines with the two dogs in area 2. Bill supplemented the 2 dogs by spawning a third and used his charge cards to move them closer to the leading marines. John was fragged on two dog bites and Jarett missed being killed by a timely dodge. The large open hallway of area three presented further problems for the marines who were plagued by several errant grenade throws that fell through the walls for no damage on the clusters of monsters who threatened them. Jarett was fragged once in this zone and Joe had to spend several turns healing John which allowed Bill to draw several powerful spawn cards.

The marines opted to go north and avoided the spiders of area 4 by entering the narrow hallway of area 5. There they found a dying scientist surrounded by a dense crowd of monsters. Jarett's chainsaw was effective but he was ultimately killed by a combined dog and zombie attack. The marines eventually discovered that the BFG was sitting in the room to the northwest from the dying scientist. When the entered the room to the north, however, they were swarmed by another large group of monsters. John's grenades were effective but he was fragged twice in this zone and Jarett was killed as well. The game thus ended with the Invader's 6 frag victory in this hallway at the door to the exit chamber in the northeastern room where the most powerful monsters lay in wait. Of the marines, John had earned 17 kill points, mostly through several timely grenade blasts, Jarett had 15 kill points mostly by chainsawing his way through crowded rooms and Joe had earned 10 points because ammunition for his shotgun proved particularly hard to obtain.
