Is it true that movement through a hedgehog hex is 1 MP, but through beach is 1 1/2 MP's? This is true even if the hedgehog is shown on a beach?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

A hex in CC will be one terrain type only. When multiple art is depicted in a hex, the terrain type closer to the top of the Terrain Type hierarchy will be the terrain type of that hex.

Hedgehog is higher than Beach so any hex that depicts Hedgehog and Beach will be ONLY Hedgehog for movement, cover, and LOS.

So, yes, the movement cost through a hedgehog hex is 1 MP.

Yes. It is higher on the terrain chart than beach so it's not "beach" but type "hedgehog."

If I had to guess, it's maybe because you can dash between hedgehogs faster than open beach where you might be crawling, low crouching, etc.

Can't explain why the difference so only guessing. Perhaps the presence of large metal objects helps provide hand-holds to the soldiers allowing them to move just a bit more surely and quickly. Perhaps the sand/gravel around the hedgehogs isn't as loose as the rest of the beach?

Or what Mark the ninja said.
