The main differences are five player support, and event cards. It's primarily worth getting if you regularly have a fifth player, or if you want a little bit less chaos (the event cards help you evaluate the other players' positions).

ES&R also does away with the board and dice, removing a large luck portion of the game. I haven't played ES&R yet (I'm going to try for it tonight), but I appreciate that change, even if the event cards could throw some more chaos into the mix.

Of course I've been up all night! Not because of caffeine, it was insomnia. I couldn't stop thinking about coffee.

I would like to hear what you thought of Edel in comparison to Basari. We play Basari with a variant. At the end of each round only one die is rolled and all players move the same distance. This way there is less luck and the die action is more predictably good.

I'm also curious how a 5th player is supported? Basari shines at 4 players because there are only 3 actions to choose from. Does ES&R have a similar simultaneous action selection?
