Is there a limit of 1 good per space on the ports, or no limit ?

not sure i understand your question you only have 3 goods per Port.
Per good you deliver you get 5 - 3 - 2 points so if you deliver them all in once you get 5+3+2 = 10 points. if you deliver only one good at a port and you are first you would score 5 if your second 3 points if you last to deliver a good 2 points

You can deliver any number (1-3) goods per port, assuming you have them. It is possible to score 10 points(or more, depending on what cards you have) in a single action.

The actual goods are placed in the Spaces in the ports.
There is exactly ONE good for each Space - no more no less.

It does not matter whether you placed all goods at once or return to the port at a later stage to make another delivery (except you will be wasting a lot of cubes and actions)

Thanks. My game host was saying that multiple goods could be on 1 space, which seemed wrong

You're right. That is wrong.
If he says that again, then show the card "Mik's Tavern" and tell him that "this guy says differently"
