I could've sworn this game was $39.99 a week ago. Can anyone confirm?

Then again, I have been looking at a bunch of games at CSI. I could be confusing it with another game.

I can confirm that I pre-ordered it from CSI at $39.99, I'm not sure if games typically increase in price after the pre-order, but yeah, this one did.

I got one the day it released from CSI for $39.99. I'm thinking this is just an example of supply and demand at work (for other examples, see Marvel Dice Masters).

They can do what they want with prices, but my issue with this instance is that, correct me if I'm wrong, they are co-publishers of the title. This would preclude them from the reasoning that they had to secure it from a 3rd party.

Their prices even with my customer discount are starting to creep up. I've switched to Cardhaus now.

I'm thinking of doing this as well. Even with my discount, Cardhaus seems to have better prices on most games.

White Dragon Enterprises has the base game for $34 as long as you don't mind slow shipping and no tracking. I've never had any problems with them.
