Quiddler Junior is a game published by Set Enterprises, Inc.. It is for 2-6 players. There is a solitaire variant in the rulebook, so it can be played with only 1 person. In this game, players will be trying to earn points by making words with the cards in their hand. The player that is best able to manage their hand will be declared the winner.

To begin, all the cards are shuffled together. Two cards are then dealt to each player. The deck is placed face down in the center of the play area with the top card turned over to start the discard pile. Play now begins.

The game takes place over 6 rounds. Players will start off with two cards but every new round they will be dealt an extra card. For example, in the 3rd round, each player will be dealt 4 cards each instead of 2 like in the first round. On a player's turn they will each draw a card from the deck and then complete their turn by discarding a card. This keeps going around in order until one player is able to use their cards to form a word and can discard a card afterwards. The player will lay their cards out to form a word and will then discard a card. The remaining players will get to draw a card and try to form a word with their cards. Any acceptable words played are then scored with point chips, ending the round. A player can score bonus points for having the longest word, counted by the letters not cards. This all keeps going each round as players try to score more points by forming longer words in later rounds. Once the sixth round is over, players add up their point chips. The player with the most points wins.

COMPONENTS
The game comes with some very fun pieces for the kids. The cards have really great age appropriate pictures on them. They are very durable and work well with younger kids. The point chips are thick cardboard and are very sturdy as well. I really like the kid friendly design of the artwork. It's very light and fun for the kids that are just learning to read and spell. It's definitely geared for a younger audience or for families of younger kids. Being a parent myself, especially one that homeschools, this is a great addition to our classroom. It's a fun way for the kids to learn spelling. I really like the look of the game and think it fits nicely.

RULEBOOK
The rulebook is nice. It has a few pictures inside, mostly of an example of gameplay. There is also a solo rules variant for playing by yourself. Of course, the game is best when it's played with the kids. Just like the game itself, the rules are very easy to read and understand. There's nothing hard or difficult. It's pretty small, having only 4 pages to it but the game's rules are really simple so there's no need for anything longer. All in all, it's cute and gets the job done.

GAMEPLAY
The game itself is really fun especially playing with the kids. It's a really simple game and it helps kids with their spelling. Of course my 4 year old is still learning so she has to have a little bit of help. The game is light and easy but is still something that the parents can enjoy as well. I really enjoy playing this one with the kids. It's fun and educational at the same time.

OVERALL
Quiddler Junior is a light award winning word game. It won 4 best game awards back in 2013. It's not a very long game, usually lasting around 30-35 minutes. It's really fun and educational and great at helping the kids with spelling and also some minor addition with the point tokens. It's a great game to play with younger kids. The artwork is cute and age appropriate. It's a game that parents will really enjoy playing with their kids. I highly recommend it. It's very simple and easy to play. It's one that will definitely see a lot of use in our home school curriculum. This one gets a gold star from the teacher.
