Hi there,

Working my way through my first full length solo game. The first Failed Coup! card has arrived, and the non player US is up first during the monsoon.

The card is "Claymores", but that doesn't really matter to my question. Does a non-player take an event that has an effect, technically, but won't really have much of an effect because it will be wiped by the next Failed Coup! card.

What should the USBot do?

Edit: Important to note, perhaps, is that the next eligible player is ARVNbot...

If it has an effect, even a lousy one for the non-player faction, it gets executed. Call it a break for you.

No wait! I'm wrong. See 8.1 5th bullet (my emphasis):

Quote:
• Ineffective Events. Regardless of the above, Non-player Factions
opt only for Events that would have an effect (something happens,
including Capabilities, 5.3) and for Momentum Events (5.4) when
the next card is “Coup!” only if they would have an immediate or
Coup Round effect (EXAMPLES: “Bombing Pause”, “Blowtorch
Komer”, “Medevac”, “Oriskany”, “Rolling Thunder” all have
such effects; “ADSID”, “Claymores”, “Wild Weasels” do not).


So the US bot before a Coup card on Claymores would takes Ops + Spec. Activity
