On page 5 the example says
If your Income is 5 and you buy a sustainability card that raises your Income by 2, then move your marker on the Income scale two steps and ending with Income of 6.

Isn't this supposed to end at 7?

No. Just have a look at the income scala on the board and you'll see.

Each income level has several steps on the chart. The chart simulates a progressive income tax.

The increase in income from the cards etc. is an increase of the gross income whereas the income chart shows the net income.

This is a mistake that is easily made.



When you look at the track (numbers are difficult to read, sorry). Income of 5,6 and 7 (green,red,blue) have 2 steps. If you look higher at the track you can see that 13 and 14 have 3 steps. Having a higher income becomes increasingly more difficult. So when adjusting your income you would move them as many steps, giving you whatever income the track shows you.
