Our first game - two player - was 57-40.. just curious what the experienced players are seeing.. though I realize it could vary based on players crowding each other more.

I think we had a score of 58 - 56 - 56.
It was really close and lots of fun.

Don't think so.

I've seen winning scores as low as 40 and as high as 75. The average is mid- to high-50s so far. Depends on how and when the game ends.

My 3 finished games so far on BAJ:

2p: 54 - 17 (respectively 13 cards + 3 temples vs. 10 cards + 1 temple). Both temples and barbarians triggered end of game.
2p: 48 - 35 (resp. 11 + 2 vs. 14 + 2). End of game triggered by temples.
3p: 72 - 61 - 53 (resp. 16 + 1 vs. 16 + 2 vs. 13 + 3). Both temples and barbarians triggered end of game.

And I also played 1 full 4p game at Essen (triggered by Barbarians) where the winner had about 55 and the rest 40-50

As can be expected, the more cards played, the higher the scores tend to be. Massive scores are as much due to people not wanting to finish the game just as they are due to perfect play.

Comparing scores then makes more sense when we know how many cards were played (assuming that people don't spend turn after turn discarding cards either for a few points, or for building up resources only to be spend on a small engine) and how the end was triggered.
The fewer cards that were played and an end game solely triggered by barbarians should result in lower scores.

I've played 3 times, all other players were n00bs (and I still can't win )
1st game: 67 won, 55 second and two other players I forget their scores.
2nd game: 94 won, 60 second and 50-something third.
3rd game: 60 won, followed by 37, 36, 35.

Have played three games so far, the first of which was one of the ones that Pum mentioned above.

The score seems to scale with the number of players, based on the few plays so far. In two player games, our scores have been:

46 vs 47
35 vs 37

(Pum, the score I have recorded for the other game is 61 vs 53 vs 94)

I think it really depends on how long the game goes on for. Those where players are working towards an engine supplemented by big temple points, and as a result are in no hurry finishing the game will have many more points than those where enough players aggressively attack or drain villages.

... one 2p I just finished now was 19-25, while another at the other extreme a few days ago was 68-86. The more player the less likely the game will terminate rapidly though, but I don't think you can easily qualify what a 'reasonable score' is (besides more than your opponents).

Depends. We play now a lot of two player games.
Winning score is usually around 28 - 38.

The player who know he is in front during the game try to
finish it as fast as possible. So no real high scores as
listed anywhere.
