Thought I would post some pics of my game room. Still getting organized but I'm happier each day. Needs more organization and some pics on the walls. Opinions, thoughts, suggestions or ideas always welcome. Happy gaming to all!

This Memorial Day weekend, do not thank a veteran. Say a prayer of thanks for those in our military who gave their last full measure of devotion, and all their tomorrows, so that we could enjoy today and all OUR tomorrows.

Nice. Those look like my Ikea shelves.

That table is ample, and I bet that ledge comes in handy. I'd put a bottle of Scotch or cognac there, plus some glasses, or a model tank or something, just to dude it up further and make it look thoughtfully decorated.

The room needs some splashes of color to make it less bachelor-pady, or less like a storage room. When you think about chairs, go for some bold colors, like orange or red, and similar colors for your wall art.

The bare white walls are just fine.

A minimalist approach helps players to focus on the game.

It certainly does create that whole "Downfall," last-days-of-the-Third-Reich effect, which is always conducive to clear thinking and good cheer.

I rarely disagree with Pete, but for those walls you need maps. Especially old maps.

Very very nice. One slight problem I see with it, it's not in my house. When can we come round for a game?

For wall decor, may I suggest some classic reprints of some propaganda posters from WWII, from various nations?

"I see you have five ASL rule books?"
2 rule books and 3 for scenarios.

"Well done!
Needs beer."
I have beer. Lots and lots of beer, also Macallan 25 I'm Irish.

"Pretty! Where do I sit?"
Ikea stools or Herman Miller chairs.

"Very very nice. One slight problem I see with it, it's not in my house. When can we come round for a game?"
Whenever you want I'm retired so I'm here all the time.

Thanks for all the kind comments.

Some might think this is symptomatic of an OCD personality, but consider re-orienting your GMT game boxes on the shelves so the bar codes don't show. I had the same issue in my war room and reoriented them--looks a lot better. Of course, I had to reorient all the other games so that I could read the game titles from the same visual orientation.

Looks good and it seems we have much the same tastes in games!

Very nice! Alas, I still have too many children in this house to have a room like that. Love your collection! What are those white binders with the flags at the top left of the shelving? Must be some neat goodies in those!

Is that the Saumur tank museum Tiger? A modern pic of it if so, but when and where did they stage it? And it looks like they placed an LAH insignia over the original.

Why not go for the real deal WWII artifact, you can pick up a war time or pre-war Soviet Mosin Nagant 91/30 main battle rifle with bayonet for about $100. Pop out the firing pin and spring to make it inert (but you can re-insert it to make the gun live) and hang it on the wall.

I found it here, a bit expensive. http://www.ebay.com/itm/German-Tiger-Tank-Panzer-WW2-Vinyl-B...

But this is the original

WW2 German re-enactors at Beltring War and Peace show 2008 . The replica Tiger 1 is based on a T-55 apparently, looks pretty authentic to me.
