I've been hard at work prepping the Kickstarter for Warfighter Wave #2. Are there any cool Stretch Goals or gaming supplies you'd like to see added?

At present, Wave #2 consists of 4 Expansions and 1 big surprise item.

The Kickstarter launches next week.

I know some of these are in upcoming expansions anyway but just in case:
This is Scott Key. Sorry to bother you but I have had a message left at work by the woman who bought our old house on Kenilworth. I have no idea what she wants. Any advice :
A booklet with all the cards summarized?
A mounted play "mat"
Big reinforced box (a la Phantom Leader Dx)
Extra Ammo counters (for the .45)
?

A mounted play mat (ideally with the locations all vertical, rather than some being on their side as I just place the location cards vertically anyway).

A larger box so all the stuff for the base game and all expansions fits in :-)

More missions. Assassinations, sniper missions, patrols, defending a base, cetc etc

1) I might be in the minority here, but I'd love to see more service women cards. I know there are a few (2 maybe 3?) in the current game and expansions, but it feels under-represented. Now if you don't get any photo submissions, than I can understand why that might not be possible.

2) Would love a mounted board but that allowed for objective locations to go higher - say 10 or 11. The campaign has a modifier that often pushes out these locations past 9, and even some objectives do that as well. Even if a mounted board has to be an "add-on" purchase stretch goal (not included as part of Wave 2 KS), I would gladly pay extra for this!

3) More missions, more theatres, areas of conflict, etc. Even if you never expanded past US armed forces, this would give the game legs for lord knows how long.

4) The footprint for this game is rather large. How about a card holder design like sundog posted about like below?

+1 for a mounted mat / board. More locations / Theatres of Operation would also be great.

This is great news! I would ask for more scenarios , maybe a special goal would be 5 or so special objectives to add in , people , places, locals?

I feel the current game has more soldiers and action cards than others...it seems

Since I bought it for the campaign aspect maybe a campaign add on, soldiers gaining rank and bonuses with them?

Great game Dan thank you

I feel, the game has enough variety for me, so I do not need more of what we already have (soldiers, weapons, skills, equipment, ammo-counters,...).
And please NO card-holders - they'd only be obstacles on the already full gaming table. Besides - where to store them?

I'd rather prefer:

- Mounted map with all locations vertical AND enough space besides to place the hostiles (in fact, I think it might have been better to design the locations in landscape format, thus being able to have all locations horizontal...)
- Painted figures
- booklet with all soldiers, weapons, skills, equipment summarized (full tables of their properties)
- bullet dice that look REAL (not yellow)
- VERY BIG (double height) box, pre-equipped with counter trays to fit it all in. I think HL:CAO-Size might not be sufficient.
- Identification counters that look like identification-tags
- maybe some more missions and objectives (towns, Vladimir Putin (and other real life "terrorists") as objectives )

I agree with all of this except the bullet dice. They are neat in concept but I just use standard d10s. No need for more. The two things I would really like are the mounted board, and upgraded soldier figures.

This may be a bit out of line -- but I would like to see a C'thulu set.

Another thread was started discussing this:

http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1268949/warfighter-cthulhu-c...

I would absolutely buy a set -- site unseen -- and for the rest of you that are die-hard military players -- I'm not talking about taking over the game with a C'thulu set of rules. Just a solid set (or two, or more).

As far as what I'd like to see in addition to what there is already? -- more of everything, I guess.

As far as minis -- is there any way to partner up with Hasslefree miniatures to offer a set of soldiers?

Here's a page from their 'modern troopers' line:

http://www.hfminis.co.uk/shop?category=miniatures~modern-tro...

I've bought from them over the years and the minis are very high quality.

So Dan, I love you, man, you know this (well, you do now at least), so no matter what you include in Warfighter part 2 K/S, I'm in, baby.

And now to go adjust my pledge for that tank game you have on K/S right now....

For those of you that may not know where to go :

Exfil cards/rules/options/component/scenario objective/something.

Right now, I don't end the mission once the objective is met. I play one more location and clear it in order for a chopper to land and get my team out of there. I do the same if I am overrun and need to abort the mission. I'm not sure how it should/could be done, but I'd like to see extraction incorporated somehow in the play.

More nations represented. (although, I think I read somewhere this is happening).

+1 on the mounted map.

Wish list
- more easy scenarios (maybe jungle set fighting local warlord)
- Cthulhu set!
- Contagion set ( military operations in country suffering an epidemic, getting wounded can result in contamination, scientists on your team )
- more low cost soldiers
- more escape missions! (Moving backwards from objective to exfiltration )
- political events ( cards that change the rules of engagement during missions)

Also:

- location card boards
I don't like using the game mat because its so large but I don't like constantly recounting locations. It could be nice to have a set of location boards (slightly larger than the cards and numbered) to place out at the start of a mission. This would act like the mat but be more portable and scale better to mission size and table size limitations.

- 3d action counter tokens and player tokens
I don't normally mind cardboard chits but with as much as we move and flip the action tokens it would be nice if they were thicker and easier to grab... like wooden blocks or plastic discs.

- No 3D renders! If possible make all the sets with real photographs.
I know there are no easy sources for jungle fighters but try contacting historical reenactment groups. They are often very willing to help with projects like this. They have tons of gear from different time period and countries and if they don't own exactly what is needed they are sure to know someone who does.

I have no interest in a mounted board - I don't see myself using the play mat now that I have played a few times.

More equipment cards - duplicates so at least 3 or 4 of each are available

Would love an urban environment as anti-terrorist and also urban warfare enemies as insurgents and military. Include hostage rescue, escort missions/objectives.

More missions and objectives.

Not sure if there are any missions yet that are survival type - e.g. behind enemy lines - make it back with increasing numbers chasing you and always having to move (only spend one round on a location?)

Air support - friendly and enemy.

Other threads have mentioned WWII and Vietnam and some international forces as add-on decks - would be great.

I am all for some unusual add-ons such as supernatural/horror/sci-fi etc with equipment, weapons, objectives, missions, locations and hostiles. An alien invasion would be interesting.

I think it is fair to say I will be in for everything (except a mounted board).

+1 for the mounted map.

and what I would really love is to be able to combine Wave #2 with the Tiger Leader kickstarter to save on shipping !

Hopefully that would save Dan on shipping costs too. 1 package instead of 2.

As for content I will leave that in your hands, no matter what it is, all good, I'm there.

Keep up the good work

I will probably return to this thread with more specific ideas, but in light of all the suggestions listed above, I am much more interested in new content than in "stuff." New "hardware" like boards and figures are nice, but really, if the game is as good and flexible as this, I just want it to flex even more.

More theaters of operation, more missions, more hostiles, more nations. Those are what I want the most.

1. Navy Seals, associated missions, equipment, etc.

2. Rubber game matt that can be rolled up and stored

3. More terrain types/settings (mountains, arctic, etc.) with associated gear, skills, etc.

cool

Echoing the others:
-mounted game mat
-larger box for better storage
-new regions, maybe something more heavily focused on urban combat, preferably somewhere else than in the Middle-East (Europe?)

And now for something completely different:
One stretch goal could be a booklet with informations about various equipment. I liked that in Advanced Squad Leader: Starter Kit #3, where you had a 10 page booklet with a short paragraph about vehicles and tanks used in game.

Im on the fence about buying into this system. I think I would like it but cant be bothered to track everything down individually. If in your KS you have an "everything to date" package Id probably buy it, especially if you end up including minis or playmat.. Visual appeal is big for me.

Got to say I think a mounted board would be a waste of resources. What purpose does it serve, other than having a few tables printed on it that you probably memorized after a couple of games? It would cost a lot, and basically has little utility to add to this kind of game.

I'd like to see the campaign rules get more detailed and fleshed out.

+1 for this. I grabbed the base game a few days ago but tracking down the expansion decks over here is proving difficult; everybody seems to be out of stock.

Also, a storage solution would be nice, even if it were only in the form of custom tuck-boxes.
