Welcome to the BGG Star Realms League. This thread is for the fourth season of play, Bronze Tier, Pod Division.

The duration of the league is 9 rounds.

Each player will play each other player once.

When match-ups are posted, either player can send the challenge.

Each round will be played discretely. That is to say, all of the games from a round (within a division) will be finalized before moving on to the next round. However, 72 hours after a round begins (rounded to the next morning, CST), I will start the next round, even if all players have not finished the current round. (For example, in the case of the second round, I will begin it on Thursday morning if it hasn't finished naturally.)

Please play at a good pace. I don't have a good system for penalizing slow play, so everybody will be on the honor system.

Standings will be determined by record of wins and losses. Points scored will also be tracked. Though they will not have any bearing on the standings, they may be used for seeding in assigning promoted and relegated players to different divisions or in certain unlikely playoff scenarios. The columns you will see in the standings are: W (wins), L (losses), Pct (percentage of games played that are wins), PS (cumulative points scored), PA (cumulative points allowed), Dif (points differential -- the difference between points scored and points allowed).

Either the winner or the loser of a match may post the final score here. Screenshots are not necessary. Please include negative numbers. (This score can be found in the lobby, with the loser's score typically being a negative number.)

If at some point during the season you anticipate being unavailable for more than a day or two, please notify me as far in advance as you can. I am more than willing to double up games so as not to delay the whole division.

In the event that a player unexpectedly stops responding to invitations or games being played and it becomes apparent to me that the player has abandoned the game, that player will either be, a) replaced, if the season is relatively early on, or, b) removed, if it is later in the season. In the event of option (b), all of a player's games will be vacated, including games already played.

Please check in at regular intervals to BGG -- daily, if possible. It would also be good to subscribe to this thread.

At the end of the season, the top 2 players in the lower tiers will be promoted to the next higher tier for the subsequent season. The bottom 3 or 4 players in the higher tiers will be relegated to the next lower tier. (This will be 4 players in the Platinum Tier and 3 players in the Gold and Silver Tiers.) If there is a tie for first place or a relegation spot, the players will have a playoff to determine the winner.

Following is a list of the players in the Bronze Tier, Pod Division in this format: Star Realms username (BGG username).

Selurevad (Selurevad)
toolbum (toolbum)
BigRed (BigRed81)
Terrestrial (Minion4Hire)
ErnieB (ErnieB)
Mortex (Mortex)
daddyo (daddyo1)
Jigmelingpa (jigmelingpa)
NightHydra

Note: As you can see, this division is not quite finished yet. The Division 9 5-way tie created a bit of a delay, so I'm waiting on the outcome of the final game. The loser of brettspiel/geki will slot in here. Also, I'm looking for one more volunteer to fill in the 10th spot in the division. So, hopefully we can be up and running here before the end of the day!

As mentioned in the Season 3, Division 9 thread, I have promoted/lateralized brettspiel over to the Fighter Division, which leaves geki in this division. Hopefully that's okay! (Next time I'll try not to cut it so close...)

Pairings for round 1:
Selurevad v. NightHydra
toolbum v. Jigmelingpa
geki v. daddyo
BigRed v. Mortex
Terrestrial v. ErnieB

Same here. Last season was a blast.

And I especially look forward to my match with you, geki, since we've played and split a good dozen games now.

Good game Travis. But did you really get -14? If that is the case I may of reported scores wrong in the last season. I just see a 17 to 14 score. If the shield with the score is black, does that mean its a negative?

Yup, the black is negative. Technically the black just shows who the loser is, but if you've lost then your score is zero or lower. The only exception is forfeits; whoever conceded shows as black, but they technically didn't get a negative score.

Thanks - hopefully I didn't screw up any tie breakers last season. More than likely, if the loser score is typically 0 to negative I imagine Remy accounted for my idiocy in any scores I reported.

Points during the season aren't used for tiebreakers, so you're fine.

Realistically the only thing the points tend to show is that some people like blue more than others and that some people have managed to put together some crazy combos. I think the highest damage combo I've pulled off in a game was 64 damage in one turn, using a Brain World, Mothership, and Command Ship to their full effect. (admittedly a proud moment ) But here a win is a win, whether by 1 point or 100.

Was not really a good game, you had it in the bag. The classic glut of high-cost midrange was there and we piddled a bit.

I got Command Ship but uou had Stealth Needle with too much boom.

You are kind to pretend I wasn't D. O. A. Since turn 6.

I figured it out. No worries.

Only game left in this round: geki v. daddyo.

This time the -1 is "real": I could have dealt only 2 more damages.
