Hi Alex

Yeh quite interested in that. Evenings are ok and an occasional weekend is ok too.

I can drive so location not an issue.

What type of games are you into? Myself very wide range of games and have quite a large collection.

Let me know what's going on.

Neil

Hope you get your club set up successfully. As I am already out three nights a week and sometimes manage a fourth at Bolton Gnome, I won't have much chance of getting over your way.

But will keep an eye open for the occasional opportunity.

Good luck.

Hi Alex,

This is something I would be potentially interested in depending on day/time and actual location.

Living in Darwen places me right in the middle of the 3 groups now available but frustratingly all a good 15-20 minutes driving distance, which soon adds up in fuel costs.(Plus travelling in rush hour is a nightmare)

I've Currently just started going to Preston as I can attend straight from work

I do drive, and wouldn't mind offering a lift to anyone local to me.

The issue I have is I have two small kids and don't want to leave the misses on her own too much not to mention I may be in danger of actually missing the germ factories. That said if I was to come my attendance may be a bit sporadic.

Let me know how you progress as I would be interested.

Cheers
Craig

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the message, I'm based in Rossendale and it would be great to see a club in the Burnley area, I also help out a friend who runs a board game company called Grim Tree Games and if we can help out in anyway with getting the word out there via Twitter / Facebook etc or even through the website then let us know.

I currently mainly game with the ORANDA Gamers :-

http://boardgamegeek.com/guild/1938

who are based out of Oldham and Rochdale on Saturdays with around 15 people which you are more than welcome to attend and see what its like, but I also game at a friends house in Burnley on a Friday night and there's on average 5/6 of us there. So Im sure you will get some great interest.

Thanks

Kris

I game with Kris Woods on Friday night as part of the Burnley gaming group.

It would be good if we could merge some of these smaller groups into a bigger more centralised group, then we could get some dependable numbers.....

Hello Alex,
Sounds interesting
I play all sorts but do gravitate to wargames unless restrained!
I live in Rossendale and drive.
Work and grandkids mean my attendance would be a bit on the sporadic side

Hi Alex,

Good luck with getting something organised. My availability would be very limited at best between me working away, my wife's nursing shifts and 3 young kids. But it sounds like there are enough people around for some sort of larger venue. e.g. a pub room to be sustainable? I'm near Hebden Bridge and drive.

Thanks for all your posts and e-mails.

There does seem to be enough people to get a club going with healthy numbers.

I've a few idea's where to root up a few more possible members. I'll see who else I can round up and try and get at least a temporary meet site before the Christmas madness kicks in.

I had wondered about the Thatch and Thistle as it's just off the motorway (and quite nice in general) but it seems Burnley is a much better place to have it I've a few idea's, and an e-mail of someone who says he has something sorted.

@Neil I'm interested in most types of games I do like them to be more thematic though.

I do have a side interest in the game in that I want to program some apps, and am interested in stealing updating novel mechanics for myself.

Another gamer from Rossendale. Would love to meet up as my son (regular gaming buddy) is now at University in Exeter. Most week nights are good (unless I have a parents' evening in my role as teacher!) and I could do weekends (for longer sessions). Somewhere in a 15-20 minute radius would be great!

Okay I've had a word with the manager of the Dugdale Arms in Burnley, and she's happy for us to hold meetings there.

The best day to hold it there is Wednesday, does anyone want to meet up next Wednesday 10th December starting at 7?

The pub is very easy to find and has its own car park. Wednesday is it's quietest night. The pub opens until 12 but I'm sure people will finish before then.

Once I get a few confirmations i'll start advertising it else where.

Unfortunately I can't do Wednesdays as that clashes with Preston.

Good to see things progressing though, best of luck!

It's not a case of me telling people what to play. If you want to play a particular game bring it.

I'll be bringing along a selection it's but it's whatever people want to play on the night.

At other meets I've seen, KoT, Kemet, Colt Express, Cavern/Agricola, Splendor, it tends to be fairly wide ranging.
