Even a cursory look at the author's bio and history should be enough for you to pretty much preclude him as a legitimate source on the subject. Particularly since he has an earlier book on the topic that seems to have the same content and has been ripped to shreds by many scientists.

Why would you pay any attention to this guy at all?

Remember the lesson of Jonathan Gruber. The people in power lie to us all the time. When those in power say that there's global warming (while temperatures drop to record lows), wise people will assume they're just lying again.

So can we expect that you will never again post anything from a "person in power" as a reliable source of any information then?

Casey is president of the Space and Science Research Corp., an Orlando, Fla., climate research firm.

His new book debunks global warming orthodoxy. For more than a decade, he reports, the planet's oceans have been cooling. And since 2007, the atmospheric temperature has been cooling as well.

"The data is pretty solid," Casey says. "If you look at the 100-year global temperature chart, you look at the steep drop-off we've had since 2007. It's the steepest drop in global temperatures in the last hundred years."

http://www.newsmax.com/newswidget/dark-winter-cold-global-co...

I don't evevn know what to believe anymore. Is the temperature rising or falling? It should be pretty easy to agree on that (forget about agreeing on the cause) but we can't.

Honestly, I say fuck it. No matter if the temp goes up or down nothing is going to change no matter what we do. If we are causing it to go up, down or sideways then we won't change.

Anyway feel free to discuss or dismiss or ridicule.

It's pretty clear that there hasn't been a temperature increase for over a decade. When AGW proponents (now rebranded as Climate Disruption Alarmists) see a hot day in Duluth they shout from the rooftops that AGW is here to stay. When entire continents get blasted by record-breaking winters or months of frigid cold the AGWists shout that Climate Disruption causes global warming which manifests as colder than normal winters and terrible hurricane seasons which are certain to happen eventually.

I was reading a report via NPR by a scientist that Ken would no doubt cheerfully give a blow job to due to him projecting heat death for Earth, something Ken and various Aussies also believe - he said that sometime in the next 100-200 years we're all going to pay the price for our lack of environmental concern by living in a climate that might even be 2 degrees hotter than now.

So, it's weather if it disputes the AGWists and it's climate if there's a hot day. All I know is the record cold November that we're having makes me wish global warming would go away so I could warm up again.

Global warming is irrelevant, doesn't matter one bit if it's happening or not (inflammatory statement out of the way).

In the modern world our sources of energy which keep us alive come from war torn and unstable countries which isn't exactly an optimal solution. We should be looking for new sources of energy which can be sourced from safer countries and while we are at it technology that will improve our health. Problem is I don't want to pay more so silly technology like wind is right out. There are two obvious solutions at hand. Solar and nuclear (and geothermal/hydroelectric if suitable).

None of them produce significant green house gases, so a shift to using both would 'solve global warming' if it's real or not. Geologically/politically stable countries can go nuclear, rest can go renewable.

Jesus... more uninformed babblings. What the fuck are you even talking about? War torn? The USA? Canada? Russia? Kuwait? Mexico? The USA is now numero uno in oil. Are all Brits as clueless as you?

Read:

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-07-04/u-s-seen-as-biggest...

And you even fucked up when considering coal, here's that list, almost the same players:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_coal_produ...

Wait! Maybe nuclear power is at risk due to a state of war torn. let's see:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_power_by_country

Aw fuck, almost the same stable nations that for some reason aren't at risk of being overthrown and disrupting the supply of energy and fuels.

Seriously man, this is why fewer and fewer people are buying into the nonsense that you believe. We can all just check and see if you're full of shit. And since you are, fewer and fewer people listen to uninformed bullshit.

I'm not sure what fantasy world y'all are living in.

Quote:
September 2014 is now the hottest month recorded since 1880.

In a statement released Monday, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) announced that last month broke the global heat record by clocking in at an average of 60.3 degrees Fahrenheit.

This announcement comes after NASA, which uses different measurements, also crowned September as a record-breaking month.

Last May, June, and August all broke the global heat record as well, and 2014 is now on track to become the warmest year since record keeping began 135 years ago.

October was also the hottest October on record.

Science? Since when does a fucking file clerk like you know more about science than a former retailer like me? Answer - never.

The difference between me and you AGW morons is I have nothing emotionally or ideologically invested in the weather. You fucktards are terrified that if it doesn't heat up, and fast, people will stop voting for the particular group of thieves you like.

Chart for chart, graph for graph, the science is fucked because scientists are often uncertain, verifiably wrong on some big things, sometimes liars, other times cheats, deceptive, greedy and basically just like the rest of humanity. You're like that Brit above who actually believes his bullshit about oil being available only in unstable war torn regions.

Science is for sale dipshit, just like everything else.

He may be a file clerk and not know science*, but I'm a PhD scientist. And talk about emotionally invested in the weather, I'm retired from a major oil company. It would be substantially to my 401(k)'s benefit if AGW were a lie . . . and very early on I thought/hoped it was. The evidence is so overwhelming now, though, it's impossible believe that. It's like evolution, the age of the earth, or even vaccines -- you can always find a handful of scientists (often working in unrelated fields) to speak out against them, but the evidence is so strong and across so many disciplines (in the first two cases) that to almost anyone versed in science they're undeniable. That doesn't stop the science illiterate -- mostly in the U.S. -- from thinking there's some sort of "controversy," though.

*Actually I don't think that's the case. That sounded worse than I intended. I was going for something like Roger Ebert's answer to Rob Schneider: "As chance would have it, I have won the Pulitzer Prize, and so I am qualified. Speaking in my official capacity as a Pulitzer Prize winner, Mr. Schneider, your movie sucks."

Yeah, you've mentioned that before, like pretty much every time the AGW argument arrives in RSP. Which is pretty much every winter when it gets cold and every summer when it gets hot. And you say the same thing you always say - I'm a scientist and unlike those other scientists, I'm right.

What's your doctorate in again? Geology?

Not to make light of your career exploiting the planet for Big Oil and Big Gas and oppressing people everywhere by destroying what little environment us poor non-scientists have left, but the question isn't does it get warm in the summer and cold in the winter and it's not even are there climate cycles where it gets warmer for a period and then colder for a period. The question is whether or not mankind has specifically caused a change in the planetary climate cycle that has disrupted some supposed natural order of things and inadvertently sent the entire globe into a death spiral of heat that will kill us all if we don't stop being modern and don't start paying enormous taxes right now to heavy-handed global overseers who will benignly and lovingly steer us poor stupid peons back onto the path of harmony with nature and save the Earth from the very people you spent your career working for.

Because, you know, that's what all global overseers will do - create harmony and love among the lambs.

Wind is cheaper than solar and nuclear, no idea where you came up with the idea that wind is expensive. Wind is pretty much the cheapest way to get electricity today (cheaper than natural gas or coal). The negative is that it is still necessary to build almost as many gas/coal power plants since wind isn't 100% reliable. Offshore wind is a bit more expensive but far more consistent due to wind blowing almost constantly offshore.

As you say, we will eventually be forced to switch to wind/solar as a primary source of energy in any case. Nuclear could provide energy only for a limited amount of time as eventually we would run out.

I also agree that the global warming nonsense is completely overblown, but people who deny it exists are morons. I'm still not convinced that DWTripp is doing anymore more than trolling when he yammers on about global warming not happening recently. I just don't believe he is that stupid.
