According to snowjax's spoilers, it's an Event. You play it and draw 3 cards, or if it's trashed due to net or meat damage, you draw 3 cards. Very cool.

Cyberdex Virus Suite is pretty great.

Oh you want to run Archives to cheaply build up virus counters? Let me get rid of those. Of course, that's where the Archives Interface is going to come in handy...

Its trash ability also makes it a perfect answer to anyone who installs clot on demand.

Click 1 - biotic labor
Click 2 - install (Drawing a card because NEH is bonkers)
Click 3 - advance
Click 4 - advance
RUNNER: WAIT!!!!! - SMCs out a clot
CORP: Cool
Click 5 - Advance
Rez Cyberdex trial - pop it, purge clot, score astroscript

Assuming that both this and clot are legit - I think this takes the place of marked accounts in future NEH builds for a while.

Reading through Forked, Knifed, and Spooned I was like "Wut?". But when I got to Eater I laughed so hard. Just the idea of slapping Eater onto the table and making a Forked run shouting "Get in mah belly!" makes me so happy. I might have to start packing a napkin to tournaments...

A dedicated anti-FA deck would run Sacrificial Constructs though, so you would need to purge twice to get rid of it.

Right, because there's going to be a competitive deck that runs Sacrificial Constructs...Hey, maybe you're right. There's a lot of trashing going on, so it's kind of a bonus.

In today's crazy world of Grail ice where barriers can deal net damage and morph ice can be anything and still trash your rig, Eater seems like it would be brilliant for early game facechecking. Obviously great with anything you don't want accesses with too (Security Testing, Dirty Laundry, Siphon, Datasucker, Medium (if you just want counters on it).

Nerve agent counters, Quest Completed, Notoriety, Singularity (?)

Mostly though, its early game advantage is what I'm excited about. It basically forces the corp to rez the first piece of ice on every server you have access to.

Don't forget Keyhole / Singularity / Wanton Destruction.

In fact Amped+Eater+Wanton Destruction is pretty amazing, you can trash their whole hand!

Swordsman kills it, of course. And Wraparound costs a lot to get through.

Well there's also the fact that you can easily scout with Eater instead of wanting an access. If they don't rez, you access. If they do, you get out of jail cheap.

Amped Wanton Destruction is so fun
