Me neither. So I replaced it. (And I have a memory of working through the folder tree and saving it).

Quick aside to Jacob. C&A is a popular private to own because it offers a free share in the PRR (which could be worth a lot). The privates are useful (mostly) to raise personal $, by stripping it from corporations. So, the C&A will sell into a company at some point for $320, more than any other private company.

Has anyone ever set out to ruin one of these online sessions by bidding ALL their money on the first available private?

I don't see how it would ruin the game. They wouldn't be able to go bankrupt for a long, long time, if at all.

I don't think you can "bid" on the first private. You just purchase it for its value.

just because I'm a bit confused right now, which rules are we using? These bidding rules seem different than those in the Mayfair Games Buyung the private companies section, unless I just missed something?

Pardon my ignorance here!

I think it's the 1830.rtf rules available in the files section. The Mayfair rules are derived and generally considered noncanonical. But I'm not actually familiar with what that book says. What discrepencies are you seeing?
