Which do you like better and why?

They're both the same size and the same price, and from what I can see, the same material. The design is different, though. What's up with the black meeples - are they supposed to be wearing cloaks or something?

Any comments welcome. Thanks.

Rogues are often depicted hoaded and wearing capes. Think that is the meaning for both fram what I could find with a google search.

I've got the ones from Broken Token. The Rogues in that set are holding little daggers.

I can't speak to the other sets in particular, but the Broken Token set is quite good, & adds a surprising amount of theme & flavor to the game.

I guess it comes down to whether you like wood or plastic better. For me the wood wins hands town, more tactile, less artificial in appearance.

I've been torn between the ones Relax makes and the design from knytetechnologies on Etsy. I think if it's the choice between the two you were looking at I would choose the wooden DNDeeples from Relax. Knyte technologies just sold the last listing of his version, I assume he'll put up more. His entire store is 3D printed and the meeples look a little rough. I like the design a little more though, especially the small symbols in the chest. Ultimately I think I'm going to go with wood tokens though, for some reason I like the feeling of the painted wood more than the roughness of the 3D printed plastic.

Here's a picture of the other meeples.

I have the DnDeeples, but there is a third option that we switched to...

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1303699463/character-me...

Search for "Waterdeep" on this kickstarter page. However, I can't find these meeples (Wizard, Rogue, Cleric, Fighter) on the actual company site at http://www.meeplesource.com/

Those are pretty fantastic. How much was it for a Waterdeep set?

I have the DnDeeples from Relax, they are incredible - well made and good paint color, feel like a professionally produced game piece.

I haven't seen any other sets in person, so I can't compare them to any others for you, but I think you'd be very happy with the wooden ones from him.

Have you seen the "Epic Metal Coins" on Kickstarter right now? They look like a great coin upgrade option:

I've been looking at coin options too.
Here is an in-development view of the Fanstasy coin version (confirmed by the Tim at Fantasy Coin as being in the next Kickstarter, at the same price as their last Kickstarter, which is better than any other Waterdeep coins I've found). The big one is also gold, like the ones in the game.

UPDATE>

I've been using the Fantasy Meeples now for 8 games and they're pretty good. Naturally, much better than the cubes because they're both thematic and smaller. Makes it easier to get people to refer to them as rogues, fighters, wizards and clerics instead of the colours. These are a bit sharp-edged, though, and I don't like the cross carried by the clerics - has Christianity every been injected into D&D????

$ more than the actual game. Really. If these 100 pieces of wood are worth 85 then my tall model ship that i worked on for 5 years should be worth liek 20,000. Yay.!
