Guys, I am looking for a great civ game for TWO players.

I have "Through the Ages" but I don't get the click.
I loved the old Sidmeier civ games, so maybe something similar?

Clash of Cultures hands down. I just ordered Hyperborea but haven't played it yet but it's supposed to scale well. You could also try Deus

I find it runs too short with two. Maybe the expansion will add a little more "epic" to the mix.

Have you looked at Innovation? It plays like 7 Wonders (card tableau laying to build your civ), but it spans multiple ages, and has a lot more interaction (and works well with 2, unlike 7 wonders). With expansions, it scales nicely to 6.

Nations has been called "Through the Ages Lite", and I think it's pretty accurate. A quicker game, and a lot more streamlined, although the theme doesn't shine through quite as much.

Rahdo, who primarily plays 2-player games, likes it too:

You could also play Sid Meier's Civilization: The Board Game with two, but it is far better with four players.

Through the Ages: A Story of Civilization is the best two-player civ game in my experience.

Clash of Cultures also works well with two.

Expensive but worth it if you have the money: Antiquity

Some might argue that it isn't a civ builder but who cares when it feels like one

... has terrible manufacturing quality which is echoed in the expansion.

Avoid.

Innovation is an amazing game for 2 players with a civ theme but it doesn't play at all like a civ game, so probably not what you're after.

Seconded. I love Innoation to death, but it isn't a "Civ game".

Indeed. I own both the 1st edition and the expansion and they are AAA quality.

To be fair, the initial copies of the base game and expansion had issues. Z-Man made sure to go and fix them.

I really enjoy playing Nations with my wife. I know that a lot of people here think it is not a very good two player game, but I really like it.

I played my four player games and three player games of it, too. Surely, they are a bit different in comparison to a two player game.

Have a look at the rules and see if you like it.
