Greetings, citizens of Faerûn!

I thought you might enjoy some hints about what's coming up in Wave 2, so here is a quick teaser article for the Shadow Dragon Expansion. This and similar articles are purposefully written without specifics. I'll let other folks spoil the exact details later. laugh

1) Shadow dragons are sadistic and cruel, striking from the darkness and targeting their most vulnerable foes first. Our named dragon is the most agile dragon in the game, yet still has the protection of heavy armor akin to that of the hardier dragons. The shadow dragon's attack value is similar to that of other stealth dragons, but he gains an attack advantage when striking a foe from behind. It's a good thing his maneuver dial allows him to be so unpredictable.

2) Shadow black dragons have a different energy type than normal black dragons. Their necrotic breath can sap the will from their enemies, forcing them to lose the use of their favorite upgrades, at least temporarily.

3) Black dragons are merciless and cruel, and those of the shadow variety are no different. If they are able to strike an enemy hard, they will tear deeply into their foe, rending them with additional damage.

4) There's something absolutely terrifying about all dragons, and this expansion includes an upgrade that's useful for all of them. Multiple non-dragons in your forward arc will cower and find themselves unable to fight back for a brief time. Of course, nimble enemies will be able to evade a dragon's grim visage, but clumsy foes who clump up together will be rendered helpless by this attack. The wide glare of the dragon's savage countenance encompasses a large area; splitting up your forces into ground and air won't protect them from a dragon's ghastly appearance!

5) Shadow dragons benefit from being in the shadows more than most creatures, and in adventures that specify that they take place in dim lighting, they reign supreme. But what's a shadow dragon to do when fighting foes in broad daylight? You guessed it! They cast a spell that makes the environment much more appealing to those of their kind.

6) But why should shadow dragons have all the fun of lurking in the darkness? Perhaps if your hero can find and equip the right artifact, he or she will learn a few new tricks as well!

Andrew

Woooooo.... Thank you!

I'm very excited about this one.

Any chance we could get a look at some of the art for it? Named or Generic?

Based off this my guess is...

3 Attack
3 Defense
4 HP
2 Armor

Movement will have a white turn around.

Dodge, Charge, Target

Named Shadow has the ability that when he is attack in someones near he gets +1 attack dice, possibly also turning a normal hit into a crit.

Breath disables upgrades on targets and possibly turns them around as if they were running. Or maybe he will have 2 breaths.

No idea on upgrades. Though maybe the rending one could be an upgrade mentioned above where normal hit is a crit if behind.

Magic spell he can cast is darkness. Makes enemy troops in a burst of 2 have - attack dice.
