Rammy (Male Ork Mage/Decker), Britt (Female Human Face), and Cheyenna (Female Ork Street Samurai) take on the Crossfire mission.

The first scene went smoothly with just 1 point of damage being dished to Britt and Rammy, and only one Crossfire card making it to the discard. The Black Market was not where it needed to be to inspire comfort, but for now it was a concern that sat unobtrusively in the corner of the mind.

The second scene opened harshly with Rammy taking 4 points of damage, but the team was able to start clearing some fodder from the Black Market and revealing some viable options. Everyone did their part to make it through, but all were looking a bit worse for wear. At the close of the scene, the team's arsenal was fortified, but their arses were smarting.

Taking major damage in the second round and having 3 Crossfire cards out, the final round seemed impossible, and even an abort appeared futile. Then, remarkably, after numerous timely assists and some amazing combos with Pair Programming, the team came within 1 damage point of victory! A win seemed assured, but a malevolent Crossfire card soon put an end to that, dealing damage to all the players and leaving Rammy and Cheyenne staggered. Obstacle damage pushed Cheyenne into the critical range on the following turn, forcing an abort.

Britt stood alone defiantly on the final turn, but with no red damage to finish off the Aztlan Veteran, no hacking cards to trigger Icon Grab's ability, and being 1 HP short of being able to receive his 2 damage, she went staggered for an unsuccessful abort round and a total loss!

It simply could not have been any closer; the most wicked mind in all the world could not devise a more brutal loss! And Britt and Rammy were a mere 1 Karma point shy of their second upgrade... just devastating! You can fuse your busted bones and swap out your bum eye for a razor-sharp telescopic implant, but if there's one lesson the shadows have to teach, it's that there ain't no mod for a broken heart, chummer!
