They probably need more fleshing out but its a start if you find the game too difficult and want to tweak the game play.
Pilot Episode Mod:
Sort all the fate cards into two piles: Pilot Episode Fate Deck and the Series Fate Deck.
Like the pilot episode of a tv series, the Pilot Epsiode fate cards contains teaser elements for the future of the series. The items in the Pilot Episode deck should only hold medium encounters ( power:6 or below) and weak events/items. This can represent the beginning of the episode where everyone is just trying to figure out what is going on.
The Series Fate cards holds all the plot twists in the series: Hanging, handcuffs, all the complicated cards.
When the game starts, all players draw fate cards from the Pilot Epsiode Fate Deck.
After the Players have found x number of campsites( X depends on the size of the island), shuffle the Pilot Episode Deck and the Series Fate Deck into one deck. Players draw from the deck as normal. A good value for X is 1 for the starting island and up to 3 for a bigger island.
