The groups then rearranged people, and David, Jeremy, Toby, Diane and Shari played Modern Art. This was a game with 2 Modern Art veterans (David and Jeremy) and 3 newbies. And that resulted in a rather unusual game I am led to believe.

To quote David: “There were a lot of first-time players doing strange things. First round, nothing but Kryptos were played, ending with a double played by Toby. The world was not normal. Paintings went for 90% of their value regularly. Perhaps this was a result of 3 new players in a five-player game. Many commented on the “brittleness” of the game, and a lack of control. With the strange goings-on, David decided to just concentrate on getting good prices for selling his paintings, as that seemed to be the sanest strategy in an insane world.”

Hmmmm. Definitely sounds like an odd playing of the game.

Final standings:
David - 356
Diane - 302
Toby - 241
Shari - 238
Jeremy - 223

Ratings were lower than usual for a playing of Modern Art - again no doubt due to the quirkiness of this particular playing of the game. Toby commented that he believed that the game was probably better than this playing of it demonstrated.

Ratings:
David - 7
Jeremy - 6
Diane - 6
Toby - 6
Shari - 5
