For "true" self-moderation, we could have an RSP guild and then create a guild manager account access to it and then everyone could moderate. devil

So does self-moderation mean that you get to self-thumb and self-X?

I am proud to have opposed those who describe all who oppose them as "Tender Flowers" and "Special Snowflakes".

If so, some of us have been self-moderating since puberty.

The guild is a good idea in terms of moderation but a bad idea in general, it would only serve to create an insular environment where only the old regulars participate. Random people wandering into the forum is an important part of why this place works so well, not only does it generate entertainment when we get a loon but it adds to the quality and variety of conversations when cool new people show up. Abandoning that almost entirely just because we're afraid Octavian might suddenly want to increase his workload seems foolish.

Why? I think the bigger issue would be "who's moderating?" It can't be everyone and if it's only one person you'll inevitably get "XXX is biased against me politically, that's why my post was deleted/hidden!" Random people can still find the place, just like they find this one.

I'll take Manhattan in a garbage bag. With Latin written on it that says "It's hard to give a shit these days"
