Freedom!
A 2-player Wizard Kings scenario

Suggested Rules:
Use the 1.6 rulebook without the 3-round combat limit. Also use the optional rule of a 6-block stacking limit.

Background:
A conquered people cannot be oppressed forever. Every few generations a hero will raise rebellion. One major victory is enough to light the fuse and galvanize the countryside into revolt. Once it begins, the overlords have only two choices: flee the rebels, or slaughter thousands. Most overlords don’t get to be overlords without being ruthless, so they usually choose the latter.

Scenario setup:
The scenario is played on Map #3, which except for the capital (see below) is friendly to the rebel player.

Overlord – Mortod
Starting Forces:
1x Necrom 4
1x Castle 2
22gp worth of units.
The overlord player may not build any additional wizard blocks in this scenario. The overlord player sets up first, putting all blocks into the city of his choosing: this city is henceforth called the capital. The capital is friendly to the overlord, while all other cities are friendly to the rebel.

Rebel – Wildryn
1x Runemaster 4
12gp worth of units
The rebel player may not build any additional wizard blocks in this scenario. The rebel player sets up all blocks in the city of his choosing.

Special rules and Victory Conditions:
The overlord player is responding to the rebel’s victory and automatically has initiative on the first turn.

The rebel movement depends greatly on winning victories to gain the support of the population. Each battle won by the rebel player provides him 1 extra build point for that turn. The first time that the rebel captures the capital he gets an additional 5 build points for that turn. Each battle won by the overlord player reduces the rebel’s build points by 1 for that turn. Winning a battle is defined as eliminating or driving off all enemy blocks. Conquering an empty city does not count as winning a battle.

The game is won when the other player’s wizard is killed (either the evil overlord is destroyed or the people’s hero falls – either one signals the end of the conflict).

Variant
Scenario setup:
Use map #1 instead of map #3.

Overlord – Jurak
Starting Forces:
1x Shakla 4
1x Castle 2
22gp worth of units.
The overlord player may not build any additional wizard blocks in this scenario. The overlord player sets up first, putting all blocks into the city of his choosing: this city is henceforth called the capital. The capital is friendly to the overlord, while all other cities are friendly to the rebel.

Rebel – Eldryn
1x Wicana 4
12gp worth of units
The rebel player may not build any additional wizard blocks in this scenario. The rebel player sets up all blocks in the city of his choosing.

Special rules and victory conditions are the same as in the base scenario.
