My Luchador KS parcel landed, and I'm really pleased with it.

However, I wasn't too clear why you might use the 3D arena, other than to make other games go "ooooh, what's that" ? As surely the arena ropes will prevent dice leaving the arena, meaning half the entertainment of this game (keeping your dice in, whilst knocking your opponents away) would no longer be there ?

That said, I haven't tried setting up my arena yet, and I suspect some harder dice tosses could still send some cubes out of the arena, but I think we're into safety goggles / duck and cover territory here (and lost dice territory too).

Have I missed something, or is this the trade-off ?

The bottom rope is still higher than the dice, so the dice fall off the platform quite easily. Put it together, and you will see. Nothing is broken with the 3D arena.

In my and my family's experience, plenty of dice go under or through the ropes. I don't know how it compares to the standard flat board as we've never bothered to use it!

also, the ropes provide a barrier to easy rolling... it might make it harder!
