Subject: Best way to use side missions as one-offs? rss

If people want a taste of what a campaign mission is like, but I don't want to keep playing Aftermath over and over, how would you recommend playing one of the side missions? They're supposed to be playable at any point in the campaign so I figured they'd work as a single session game. Give everyone a certain amount of credits, influence, and XP to upgrade before the mission starts?

i would say just choose the heroes, boost them as per the normal way to balance for less than 4 heroes and use a threat level of 2 for the imperial player. this is the basic level of balance

the money and xp that both the heroes and imperial player gains and coupled with the rise in threat level over the course of the campaign is what balances the campaign, so if you leave this out for both sides, the balance of each mission should be just fine.

xp wise, you could say to give all heroes and imperial player the same amount of xp if you are keen on giving them more class options/abilities

but im unsure how to best balance threat level and money/items

Yield Aftermath winning bonus to both sides (e.g. as if both had won).
Have a post scenario phase (Rebel and IP Upgrades).
Run any side mission scenario.
Repeat.

Would like to read your thoughts on scaling that higher. Some missions yield more cash, some more xp, some more influence, some less, etc. Then missions also have stashes with cash... You could for instance take half of the aftermath cash and make that available as well..

But what if you want tier 3 weapons and a bunch of Agenda Cards and some more XP to have some IP and hero abilities?
