I'm curious - has this ever happened to any of you wargamers out there? For someone gathering up the courage to try a wargame with lots of small chits, seeing this could stop them from going any further.

It's really very simple. You just place all your chits underneath the plexiglass that holds down the map. ninja

Excellent, and yes, this has happened to me! About 17 years ago, my buddy Karl and I were playing AH's 1776, and anyone who has played this game know that you can get some pretty tall stacks of counters going in this game. Well, Karl sneezes hard, kicks the table, and all the towering stacks of counters go flying. We both had a pretty good laugh about it and I think we let the game end in some sort of draw!

I think to be more believable there should be about 10 zillion chits.

Pretty funny.

Hasn't happened with a sneeze to me yet, but we've had coughs, table kicks, fist pounds, dice rolls, knocked over drinks, ...

Sometimes I wonder if it's done on purpose.

I think this one is equivalent to the disaster I had a few years ago when my friend spilled his beverage of choice all over the table where we were playing Magic....with some fairly expensive cards.

My first second good laugh of the evening. (First one came during a game of Prophecy when one of the guys playing ripped a loud one just as one of the other guys announced that he had drawn a "Refreshing Wind." It was juvenile, but a good belly laugh is always refreshing.)

It doesn't need to be chits - I've had this happen in Queen's Gambit before. That palace is NOT architecturally sound I tell you!

To be completely accurate, the name on the box needs to read: Epic of the Peloponnesian War.

Not from a sneeze, but it does happen plenty of times. I'd say 40% kicking/bumping the table, 40% children/cats, 15% dropping a play aid card, 5% errant toss of the dice...
