My group LOVES 7 Wonders! And I think something we like about it is that there's hardly any down time, because all players play simultaneously.

Now as far as the recommendation I'm looking for, I'm looking for games where, if not all at the same time, everyone gets a chance to do something each turn (think Eminent Domain's follow mechanic). I think Worker placement games kind of fit this bill, maybe shy away from recommending worker placement games.

Before anyone does, don't recommend: Sushi Go!, Race for the Galaxy, or Dutch Blitz (or similar games like Ligretto).

Have you thought of looking into other card drafting games? Among the Stars, Greed, and Fairy Tale are all similar to 7 Wonders. The latter 2 also play much faster.

For some other suggestions:

Jamaica
Puerto Rico
RoboRally

Simultaneous action selection is something I love in games. Some of my favorites at the moment are:

Libertalia
Android: Infiltration
Ginkgopolis

Revolution! plays pretty quickly and has simultaneous blind bidding. I like the game, although sometimes someone can get in a vicious cycle where they keep getting shut out of stuff.

By eliminating RftG, you are excluding Puerto Rico etc. Fine.

Time 'n' Space: a real time game: everyone plays simultaneously; this time it's not about joining in on someone else's turn though but it's actually everyone's turn at the same time! (sand timers are in use)

Well, any Co-op fits the bill, like Pandemic
Games with auctions perhaps fit the bill, like Ra
Games with negotiation perhaps fit the bill, like Chinatown
Party games usually fit the bill, like Apples to Apples
Solitaire games fit the bill (tee hee)

I recommend Würfel Bohnanza which is probably considered a party game.

At the Gates of Loyang is almost entirely played with simultaneous turns, especially if you take out the "competitive" cards (there are only a few).

um...doesn't PR exclude itself as it is not a "simultaneously" played game.

I am not sure whether you mean to exclude all real-time games, but Escape: The Curse of the Temple is really good. It's ten minutes of simultaneous, cooperative die rolling.

Robinson Crusoe: Adventures on the Cursed Island is another one where everyone plays simultaneously. It seemed that you were asking for games without worker placement, though? I didn't fully understand your statement about that. If you don't want worker placement, then ignore this. :-)

I haven't tried it yet, but Paperback had rules in the book for alternate play where everyone plays their turn simultaneously.
