Next Sunday I'm moving to Paris for a year. Now I did find a lot of Game Stores in this http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/120302 thread, but I couldn't find any info on game clubs. Any words of advice? Thanks in advance. Merçi de votre assistance

Hi and welcome to Paris

The best way to find players is to use the french gaming boards at trictrac.net

Otherwise, there are gaming nights on friday evening at the Ludotheque de Boulogne-Billancourt (SW of Paris - use subway line 9), which has a rather large collection of games (there's a small yearly fee).

Also, don't forget the free gaming nights on thursdays, which alternate between the store Fireball, and the cafe Ancora (near the Champs Elysees).

See you there!

For the Ancora: 3 rue d'Armaillé 75017 Paris (Subway: Charles de Gaulle Etoile, Line 1-2-6, RER A, exit Carnot). Beginning at 19h00-19h30 (next one: 12 Oct then every two weeks).
(some pictures on Trictrac: http://www.trictrac.net/index.php3?id=reportages&inf=detail_...)

For Fireball: 63, rue Monge 75005 Paris (Subway: Place Monge - line 7 or Cardinal Lemoine - line 10). Beginning at 19h30 but the problem is next one is tonight (5 Oct) and the one after will not be before November (due to Essen and holidays), alternatively with the Ancora.
(some pictures on Trictrac: http://www.trictrac.net/index.php3?id=reportages&inf=detail_...)

I am going there regularly.

I'm looking for more information. You have many clubs in the suburb but it's sometimes hard to go there without a car. Where are you going to live (Paris or suburb)?

[EDIT] An association "A quoi tu joues?" (http://www.aquoitujoues.org/) plays :
- each first tuesday night of a month: Café Les 3 Arts/La Taverne, 21 rue des Rigoles 75020 Paris (Subway: Jourdain - Bus 26 ou 60). Beginning at 19h00. Next one: 07 Nov.
(some pictures here: http://www.aquoitujoues.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=573)
- each fourth sunday afternoon of a month: Café Les Trois bornes, 19 rue des Trois Bornes 75011 Paris (Subway: Parmentier). Beginning at 16h00. Next one: 22 Oct.
Never went there.

For the ludothèque of Boulogne Billancourt (http://www.ludotheque.com/): Salle Yves Kermen, 624, rue Yves Kermen - Boulogne Billancourt. Each Friday night (with a small annual fee).
(some pictures here for example, special Mission Planète Rouge night: http://www.ludotheque.com/page.php3?fond=reportage&id_articl...)
I'm going there on special occasions (twice a year).

So wellcome in Paris.

There's also "Le Clube", with a asiatic-brunch + games every month. Excellent, but we don't kow what will happen now, because the Clube master has gone from Paris to province... but tell that the brunchs of the Clube will continue to exist.
So, keep you inform about these meetings here : http://clube.free.fr

For the Ancora/Fireball, they just made an arrangement for the next sessions :
- Jeudi 12 octobre: Ancora
- Jeudi 19 octobre: nothing (Essen)
- Jeudi 26 octobre: Fireball: after-Essen!
- Jeudi 2 novembre: Ancora
- Jeudi 9 novembre: Ancora again
- Jeudi 16 novembre : Fireball
- Jeudi 23 novembre: Ancora
- Jeudi 30 novembre: Fireball...
then alternatively.
