SAKURA in KYOTO 2018 Back to Kansai
YES! We are very pleased to announce that Beyond Monopoly!, York's friendliest boardgame club, will be holding an event at
the National Railway Museum on Sunday November 12th.
As well as displaying a lot of train games, we'll be playing all the regular favourites. We expect to see 1500 visitors on the day and we'll have several tables in the Main Hall. We'll have Knizia's Stephensons Rocket just metres from the real thing! Well, a working replica anyway.
Entry to the museum is free, so if you've been planning a visit to York, now you know the best day. Come along and say hello and tell everyone how great our modern games are. Better still, volunteer to help us out.
If you like trains, the NRM is a fantastic place. See the Mallard, the world's fastest steam train, sat beside the Shinkansen Bullet Train from Japan, a huge Chinese loco and the earliest engines used in Britain. As well as the main hall packed with locos and wagons with a working turntable, there are halls with carriages, railway history and lots of displays. One hall has tons of railway stuff they couldn't fit anywhere else, all the things that go to make a railway run. They also have their own engine works and you can usually see volunteers working on restorations. Kids love the NRM, you'll have a great free day out and you can try beating me at Streetsoccer. You won't, but you can try.
See you in a few weeks.
