How do you feel about players resolving their own battles simultaneously in a game like Dungeon Lords? Obviously players can make mistakes, cheat, or bend the rules advantageously and it would be difficult to notice.
On the other hand, game play can be made considerably quicker. Imagine a game where players are asked to individually resolve their own turns every round. Would this fly at your table?

Depends on how experienced we are or how tired.

Most of the time we take turns and rapid-fire through each battle, just spot-checking that nothing was missed...and gleefully pointing out any mistakes such as forgetting to apply the Magic Spell.

With new players, I insist on going step by step so they can get the hang of what's happening both with their own early mistakes, and to see how I and others are planning our battles.
