The FAQ says

Quote:
A player may only have one Cheatin’ ability triggered by their draw hand per resolution step

however and the rulebook says this only applies to "Cheatin' Resolutions"

The "getting started" play-through seems to indicate you can use both Tommy Harden and Philip Swinford in the first shootout (though you end up not using Philip). Is this correct? Does the "only one" rule not apply to these on reveal effects? If so, then what is the FAQ clearing up? It just seems to muddy the water.

So yeah, this particular rule is not clear to me yet, any help getting it clear would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Whatever you do will be insignificent. But it is very important that you do it.

The difference is Cheatin' Abilities vs. Cheatin' traits.

An ability begins with a cost to activate written in bold such as Cheatin' Resolution, Boot: or React, Pay 1 GR:

Traits are text written on a character that are always active.
Phillip and Tommy both have Traits that trigger when your opponent reveals a cheatin' hand (note: Tommy must be in the shootout, Phillip does not have to be).

If you also had a Coachwhip in your hand and Tommy was weilding a Pair of Six Shooters, then you would have to choose which of those 2 to use as a Resolution to the Cheatin' play since they are both abilities.

Hope that halps
