I'm not sure where to find these anymore - there are some on ebay for exorbitant prices, but I'm just looking for something like this, only cheapish:

It doesn't need to be metal or anything, just would rather use a dial vs. a die, since the die can easily get knocked around.

Thanks!

Salvation Army or Goodwill probably have games for a dollar or two that have spinners in them you could use. Or try a educational/teaching supply store.

Cheapest way is to print out on the cardstock, along with the dial, put it together with a Eyelet so that it is able to rotate around.

When I need a life counter up to 10, I don't even use a dial.

For example, for a life counter up to 8, print out a square. On one side, put 1, 2, 3, and 4 for each corner. 5-8 on the back side. And I just rotate it and flip if necessary.

As an alternative, knitting counters can be used for this very thing. Most knitting stores will have them in some capacity.

There are also golf counters that are pretty similar.

Here are some counters I made using a washer (1.5 inch)

I believe I still have the files for the graphics or, if you want something else let me know.

I just printed them out, cut, glued and varnished. The magnet markers I got from Magcraft and they are 1/8" which I painted red.

Edit: oh I made some for Robinson Crusoe to replace the wooden marker

www.jacestoychest.etsy.com has some really nice counters for board and card games. There are both generic ones and special designs.
