Since rule suggested we use cup not bag so i'm assumed players could always see what color remaining (and use some method to randomly draw cubes). Am I correct?

You basically could calculate what should be in the cup (or, in case of my game, in the bag), so I don't see the point of NOT being allowed to look. It isn't a memory game, after all, and there is enough going on that you shouldn't need to calculate this, aswell...
