This came up as we played the first Scenario and the Heroes were knocked back into pits. Neither used movement points to leave the pits, so the question was raised: on the giant's next attack, could he hit the Heroes in the pits and use Knockback to lift them out of the pits and knock them to other places in the room?

The rules don't cover this, so you'll have to decide for yourself.

The FAQ says grapple works in pits, so my guess would be that if pressed, they would allow knocback, as well. I think it's stupid that a pit square can be targeted at all unless with ranged attacks.

hi,
my question here: is Knockback an option?
so i wonder does the overlord have choice to use the Knockback ability or not?

thanks.

We will move from victims to survivors and conquer as we go.

Depends on what you decide. If knockback should work in pits, it is of course no option.
OTOH, it would be kind of stupid...

Totally seems up to the overlord; does the giant reach down and toss the hero about, thus recieving serious trauma? Seems reasonable, but then again I'm not Kevin Wilson. Not sure if that's what he intended for the ability. I say its your game use it as you see fit.
