I'm unclear on how these play. Do the tokens stay on my board until the end of the game when I buy this upgrade, like the Barrelhouse, or are they removed as I pay the extra Hops and infuse the batch? Thanks.

I really liked the game it was a really cool system, and the theme was awesome.

They stay on your board for the rest of the game.

The rules point out that they are only installed where you currently have brew tanks. So if you later add a brew pub or double batch system, you would have to use another action to re-install them on the new tanks (but not the existing one).

That's right, so the obvious strategy tip is to install either the Brewpub or double batch system BEFORE installing hops infusers, otherwise you are being inefficient with your scarce number of brewery actions.

So then, is it safe to assume that if you install a hops infuser, then upgrade to a double batch system, that ONE of the two tanks will have the hops infuser token on it?

That is a good question because then it's a question of whether or not you just added a system to make it a double batch system or had to completely rip out everything and completely install a new system.

If you install a double system your existing hops infuser from your single system remains, as does any beer currently in the single fermentation tank or bottling line

Thank you for answering that corner case for us Ben! thumbsup

Is the question fully answered though? If you install hops infuser, then install double processing line, do both tanks have hops infusers or just one?

In other words, is the hops infuser a piece of equipment that you install once for all time or is it dependent on the state of your brewery (i.e. number of fermentation tanks, brewpub, etc) when you install it?

The hops infuser is "attached" to a tank. When you install a double line, you are actually installing a second line, not a new double. So you have your old tank, which still has a hops infuser and still may have fermenting beer in it. You also have a new, empty tank, that does not have a hops infuser.

Ok, so if that is the case you really do have to think somewhat carefully about when you install hops infusers if you plan on installing additional fermentation tanks later.

Followup question: If you install hops infusers, do you just get 1 per action, or do you get them on each tank you have at the time you install?

You get them on each tank that you have installed at the time. If you add a tank later in the game, you'll need to take the action again if you want to install a hops infuser on a future built tank.
