Game Kastle Santa Clara will be hosting Resistance is Futile OP2 on Saturday, January 10. Registration begins at 10am. Play begins at noon. There will be multiple prize ships available (depending on attendance... the more attendees, the more prize ships) awarded for 1st and 2nd place, as well as top finishers of each of the thematic builds listed below (other than 1st and 2nd overall).

Game Kastle
1350 Coleman Ave, Santa Clara, CA
Phone: (408)243-4263

SPECIAL RULES FOR THIS EVENT.

This event will be played using an alternate rule set.
The set up will be a planet token in the middle of the field of play. Each player will be given 3 obstacle tokens to place in alternating order beginning with the player who has initiative. Then, after the fields are all set and the players have placed their ships, one of the 3 "Sector Conditions" created by Wizkids for their Attack Wing Regional Championships will be randomly selected and all players will have to play within the confines of those restrictions for the round. The Sector Condition cards are available at http://wizkidsgames.com/blog/2014/08/29/2014-wizkids-open-to....
After a Sector Condition has been used, it will not be used again in this event. Thus, the last round's condition will be known after the second round's condition is announced.
Fleet building rules are the same as they were for Resistance Is Futile OP1; bring a pre-built 90 point fleet (with no ship exceeding 50 points, and a minimum of 2 ships in your pre-built fleet). Then add a 30 point blind booster ship you will receive when signing in for the event.

Entry fee is $21 and includes a blind booster package ship exclusive to this event series.

The optional thematic build rules for this event are below. As there is the ability for a fleet to qualify for more than one of these, you must choose only ONE of the themes for your fleet, even if it has the qualifications for more than one.

Precision Flying: Your 90 point (non-booster) fleet may include only ships with 90 degree forward firing arcs. No 180 degree forward arcs, no 360 degree arcs, nor any ships with abilities that increase firing arcs (like Enterprise D and Voyager) or upgrades that increase firing arcs (like dorsal weapons/phaser array). Rear firing arcs are fine and are allowed.

Torpedo Boats: Your 90 point (non-booster) fleet must all have Torpedo secondary weapons equipped.

Independents' Day: Your 90 point (non-booster) fleet must be all Independent faction ships with Independent captains. Crew/weapons/upgrades can be from other factions.

ADDITIONALLY:

You may use the following RESOURCES as UPGRADES in your fleet, with the listed restrictions:

Chief Engineer (5sp)
Improved Shields (10sp)
Skilled Helmsman (5sp)
Extra Attack Die (5sp) (must be attached to one ship and only works for that ship if used as an upgrade)
Counter Attack Die (5 sp) (must be attached to one ship and only works for that ship if used as an upgrade)

Each must be attached to a specific ship, even if its effect is fleetwide (Chief Engineer. Improved Shields). If the ship it is on is destroyed, the effect CAN still be used but the opponent scores the points for it and the end of the round.

See you there!!

Just a bump for reminder that this is happening tomorrow! Remember; we are playing a modified Regionals-style event, as opposed to RiF OP2, so, if you wanted a chance to try your hand in the Regionals but couldn't make it to one, now is your chance to see how your fleet would have fared!
