So, let's say I wanted to take photos of minis I've been painting, and didn't want to completely clutter my BGG Gallery, but wanted to post them to BGG. So I want someplace to put them, preferably free of charge and minimizing strange and invasive privacy issues, where I can then link to BGG. (I can post photos to Facebook, but can't link them to BGG).

Suggestions?

You don't ever have to visit the ad-ful parts of the site. They welcome hot linking of images, so you can include the .jpg directly in your post here.

Go to a picture you published on Flickr, (prefarably as logged in), press the right leaning arrow, now a option box should popup with facebook and etc social media, and also somewhere in it BBCode, press BBCode, select the size of the image to post and copy the code in the button box. Looks something like this but not with the random spaceing.

Thank you for this!
Indeed still some privacy issues, but this might be a good "back door".

I definitely agree with the Flickr comment, but another cheap and free one for just linking photos is Photobucket.

I finally got around to creating a Flickr account, and I can't find any way of doing this. There is no BBCode option. From other forums, sounds like maybe they got rid of it at some point?

EDIT: Ah ha! You need to add the image to an album, and THEN you get the BBCode link.

Thanks for the suggestions all!

Imgur is my site of choice, too. It allows easy linking directly to the full page pic without any ads, if people post it like that.

I use to use Flickr but it seems with their updates and changes that it's not as intuitive as it once was and a bit of a pain to get the image link to post your photo. I was using it and smugmug. Now I use Smugmug completely and left Flickr.
