5 Player Most/Worst Question |

We played a 5 person game and had some issues with the rules about being tied for best or worst. Can anyone clarify how this works or point me to a thread that does?

The situation that was most problematic was that there were two tied for first, with a third person solely in second. How many players receive the bonus?

The third person would not have been in 'second'. He would be third.

Think of it this way:
- Up to two people can get the bonus for having 'most'
- At least two people get the penalty for having 'least'

In regards to 5 p...

Where there is a tie for most there can only be at most 2.

This is from the FAQ -
5 players
Q:
In a 5-player game with 2 Nations
having the most Strength, who gets
the bonus from a strongest Nation
event?
A:
Both.
Q:
In a 5-player game with 3 Nations
having the most Strength, who gets
the bonus from a strongest Nation
event?
A:
None.

In the rulebook it states -

Positive Events also affect the second strongest (unless
tied), negative Events affect the two weakest (including
all tied). Other card effects work similarly, so for Saint
Augustine (most stable) you get the effect if you have
the most or second most Stability. Passed first counts
for passed first or second. Passed last counts for passed
fourth or fifth.

Example: China has 23 Military Strength, Persia 22,
Greece 22, Rome 5, Egypt 4. China is strongest, Rome
and Egypt are weakest.

Example: China has 8 Stability, Persia 7, Greece 5, Rome
5, Egypt 4. China and Persia are most stable. Greece,
Rome and Egypt are least stable.
