Any sign of geeklife in or around Belleville, MI? I am moving to the area and looking if there are any gamers or good gaming stores in the area between Ann Arbor and Detroit.

Also, ROBA should be speaking up shortly...

Wow, Belleville! My grandmother lived there for, er, ever. Many memories do I have of that place.

Ah Belleville. Lived off of Belleville Road for a while there. Nice little city (the Mexican place just over the bridge in town...Dos Peso's...has good food, btw!).

Ann Arbor is probably your best best, especially location wise.

ROBA is great, but it's gonna be a bit of a haul for ya. Here's the website (Yahoo page).

http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/ROBA/

They meet the last Saturday every month up in Rochester Hills (over by Meadowbrook, if you know the area). From Belleville, that's probably a 45+ minute drive, but it's a blast. 6+ hours of great gaming with a fun bunch of folks.

Oh, forgot, as far as stores go, RIW Hobbies over on 5 mile and Middlebelt in Livonia has a great stock of games. They hardly ever update their website, but at least it has directions and such:

I am in Lake Orion.....
Most of the good game stores have dried up. Games Workshop stores took a toll when they arrived in the state since most hobby shops were heavy into GW and there markup was not great due to GW pricing. When The Wizards Of The Coast Store hit the area...that was the straw that broke the camels back it seems. Although all the WOTC stores have vanished....good old hobby shops are making a SLOW comeback...usually very limited in the gaming department!

Why not ask the Triplets? (Sorry, obscure movie reference. Well, not that obscure, it got two Oscar nominations - best animated movie and best song - and should'a won both darn it!)

UCon is going to be at U of M (at the Michigan Union Bldg.) in mid-November; search for U Con and you'll get to the website. I am hoping to run a couple events there. Also, Metro Detroit Gamers will be having MDG WinterCXon December 9th at Macomb Community College in Warren (NE suburb. Anyone interested please contact me for more info, especially if you want to run any events.

There's also the Wolverine Gaming Club. Meets in Ann Arbor 2 Sundays a month. Here's a link to their schedule.

Also forgot to mention that RIW in Livonia also, supposedly, has Board Gaming Night on Wednesdays. Haven't been fortunate enough to get over there (Wednesday's are notoriously bad for me). Livonia isn't much of a haul from Belleville at all (15 minutes taking I-275). Call RIW to confirm (it's on their monthly schedule, but their site hasn't been updated since August).
