I don't know if there are any fantasy book readers here - hopefully there are!

But if anyone wants to read an (IMHO) excellent book mixing medaeval warfare and magic, look no further than "Ash: A Secret History" by Mary Gentle.

I can't recommend this book too highly. I think it is truely excellent.

There's a good review here: http://www.sfsite.com/10b/ash91.htm

Any wargamers who are suspicious of magic in wargames should read this book. Watch out though - it's a loooooong book!
